Making a New Transformer Look Old

When replacing a defective transformer in a prewar set it is desirable to make it look as much like the original one as possible. Here is how we did it in a HMV 904. Here is the old transformer. Notice the wax leaking out.

The terminal strips were then attached to the new transformer using hot glue. Insulating cambric was used between the filmanet leads and the high voltage leads under the terminal strips.
