Clocks

I have a fascination with clocks. Okay, withmost mechanical devices! Over twenty years ago I purchased a grandfather clock from Germany's Black Forest. It is like a curio cabinet. I got an engraved pendulum, beveled glass, engraved weights, and a stained glass type front.

I have just completed my first wooden clock. It is all wood except for a few metal shafts that the gears go onto. It is just really cool. to watch.

My wife has an electronic cuckoo clock, carved in the Black Forest.

My next purchase will be a Black Forest cuckoo clock - mechanical of course. I am studying the various builders. It is amazing to me that the sounds, the motion, the timekeeping is all mechanical - and they can be very accurate.
